Four engine options are available for the 2024 Ford Escape. These include a 1.5L EcoBoost engine that produces 180 horsepower and 199 lb.-ft. of torque, a 2.0L EcoBoost engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, a 2.5L I-4 hybrid engine that offers 192 horsepower, and a plug-in hybrid 2.5L I-4 hybrid engine that yields 210 horsepower. The 1.5L EcoBoost engine and the 2.0L EcoBoost engine are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines are coupled with a continuously variable transmission.
There are up to four drive modes available to help adjust the Escape’s performance to suit your preference. When the onboard All-Wheel Drive with AWD Disconnect technology detects that all-wheel drive is no longer needed, it disconnects the rear driveline, leaving the front wheels to propel the vehicle.
