At the Consumer Electronics Show this week, Ford President & CEO Mark Fields spoke about where the company is going to be four years from now.
By 2020, Ford will have brought 13 new electric models to market, joining the likes of the Ford Fusion Energi. To get there, releasing an average over three models per year, the company is making a $4.5 billion investment.
Ford will also be enhancing its in-cabin technology. Sync with MyFord Touch was one of the most advanced touchscreen technologies when it came out, but as an early adopter, has suffered through some bugs and complaints.
New vehicles will begin to see SYNC 3 replace the older displays, with easier to navigate and faster-loading menus. By 2020, Ford expects 43 million vehicles on the road equipped with SYNC.
